Summerfield Charitable Trust

Makes grants to charities based in Gloucestershire or engaged in projects that is of specific benefit to residents of the County.  It favours: Arts projects; the needs of those living in rural areas; ventures which make a point of using volunteers; joint appeals from groups working in similar areas who wish to develop a partnership; and those who are promoting excellence in a given field.

It prefers applicants who:
- show clear indications that they have assessed the impact of their projects upon the environment;
- schemes that indicate planning for long term self-sufficiency;
- projects that demonstrate active involvement with the beneficiaries;

The trustees prefer to award one-off grants to help fund specific projects rather than to make payments for revenue items.  Individuals are only very rarely supported.
