Taijiquan
is a component part of
China
’s traditional culture and one kind of Chinese shadow boxing. It is
also an important traditional way to improve one’s health and
physique.
In
the mid-17th century, various forms and styles of shadow
boxing emerged, and today there are the Chen-style, Yang-styles, two
forms of Wu-style and Sun-style shadow boxing.
Taijiquan
has unique sets of practice forms combining moving with stillness,
firmness with softness, and form with spirit. Its movements are soft,
natural and continuous, requiring a relaxed and concentrated mind.
