Hesters Way Partnership together with Jobcentre Plus have developed an Enterprise Club to help people in the Cheltenham area who want to set up their own business. Enterprise Club Course Details Flyer Enterprise Club Application Form The club is open to anyone over 18 and will involve a series of business start-up workshops run by John Rendle an experienced business advisor. (website c4ed.co.uk) designed to help people understand what is involved in being self-employed and starting their own business. The first session will give a general overview of the skills you’ll need to get started - such as accounts, marketing & sales, business registration and general legislation. The second session will be on Business Planning and access to finance, after which you be invited to start developing a business plan which will test your proposed project. The final session will be in a clinic format where you’ll be able to discuss specific business questions with an experienced business advisor. You’ll then able to fine tune this business plan and decide what you need to do to get your business going. Once you have attended the 3 workshops, we’ll be able to allocate you a mentor from the local business community to help you. This mentor will be a business person who’s been there, done it, understand the pitfalls, and can use their experience and skills to help you with a first foot on the ladder. This opportunity is timed to coincide with the New Enterprise Allowance (NEA) beginning on 1st August which will be available to Jobseekers Allowance customers with a business idea who have been claiming for 26-weeks or more and are not in the Work Programme. In the NEA scheme once a customer can demonstrate they have a viable business proposition with the potential for growth in the future, they will be able to access financial support which could be worth over £2,000 people who starts their own business.
