Community Chest Fund Guidelines

NB At present the scheme has been suspended until further notice.

The Hesters Way Partnership Community Chest Fund aims to enable groups of local people and organisations to give “added value” to;

  • activities that they already carry out within and for the Hesters Way community
  • new projects or activities in Hesters Way that require additional funding

These guidelines are designed to accompany the Community Chest Application Form and will help you complete your application.  The numbered statements below correspond to the information that is required on the application form.

Please note: you can only make one application at a time.

  1. Please contact the Office Administrator, Hesters Way Partnership, on 01242 548294 if you have any problems whilst completing your application.

  2. Please insert your name and address of organisation and the telephone number

  3. Please insert the main contact person in your organisation and the position he/she holds.

  4. Please give a few details as to what your organisation does.

  5. Please insert the amount of money you are applying for.   The amount cannot exceed £250.00

  6. Please give a few sentences on how your organisation would spend the money you are applying for. Include how the money would benefit your organisation and the people who would be involved.

  7. Please insert details on the age range of people who would benefit.

  8. Please give details of any other funding.

  9. Please give a few details of the activity you are seeking Community Chest funding for.

  10. Please specify how you would monitor any money received from the Community Chest Fund and include the name of the person responsible.

  11. Please note that referees MUST BE from two separate organisations and NOT be part of the organisation/group applying for the funding.

  12. Note that applicant MUST be part of the group.

If your organisation has its own Constitution and/or aims and objectives and an up-to date accounts statement, please enclose copies with your application form.    Organisations that are not able to provide these will need to be interviewed by the Community Chest Panel.

When you have completed and sent in your application form it will be reviewed by a panel.  The panel includes members of the Hesters Way Partnership who will look at your application to make sure that it meets the aims and objectives of the Community Chest Fund and that the amount that has been requested is appropriate for the activity or project.  The panel will meet monthly to make decisions on applications.

If your application is successful we would like you to write a short article about the activities that have been undertaken using the grant money. It would also be useful to take some accompanying photographs, as we would publish the article in the Hesters Way News. If you have any problems writing the article the Partnership staff would be glad help.

Completed application forms should be returned to:
