What sort of organisation are we?

We are a multi-agency partnership based in Hesters Way, Cheltenham; a not for profit charity managed by a Board of Directors and comprising partner organisations aiming to facilitate and promote a sustainable community in greater Hesters Way and Springbank.

Formation of the Partnership

In the mid 1990’s a variety of reports and consultation exercises were undertaken culminating in 1997 with the Pieda Report which recommended the establishment of a Community Regeneration Area and a Community Resource Centre. In September 1997 the Hesters Way Partnership (HWP) was established to fulfil these recommendations and to focus attention on the regeneration of Hesters Way as a whole. See history and track record for more details.

Who are the managers?

The HWP is set up as a not-for-profit Limited Company managed by a board of directors from key local stakeholders but we are also influenced by the wider Partnership membership, encompassing all local stakeholders. See partners for details. We employ a Partnership Manager to develop and direct the operation of the organisation both strategically and on a day to day basis; a Company Secretary to administer the business of the partnership and a part time Community Development worker to facilitate the strengthening of the Hesters Way and Springbank Communities.

Hours per month

Paid                300 hrs
Voluntary         40 hrs

How do we operate?

The Board directs the work of the Partnership through its monthly meetings and is supported by the Personnel and Finance committee. This committee scrutinises the finer operational details and makes recommendations back to the Board. All decisions must be ratified by the Board by a majority vote in a quorate meeting. Staff are instructed to carry out the tasks as directed by these two groups. See meetings for more details

What is special about us?

We are an organisation dedicated to promoting and facilitating the regeneration of Hesters Way and environs (Springbank, St Marks, Rowanfield, Fiddlers Green) and to the development of a sustainable local community. We have the enviable benefit of a sustainable income source derived from the rental from two community resource centres
