Established in 1996 the Neighbourhood Project provides a variety of services to the local community including welfare and drugs advice, a neighbourhood college and community involvement work. The project acts as the managing agent for the resource centre which also houses the Doorstep Cafe.

Pop in to the Doorstep Café where we offer a broad selection of hot and cold food, snacks and drinks which include cappuccino’s, latte’s and mocha’s. Try our delicious baguettes with a variety of tempting fillings too! CAFÉ OPEN; Monday to Thursday, 9am to 4pm Friday; 9am to 3pm.
The Centre houses 4 meeting, seminars and conferences spaces catering for up to 100 delegates and 3 advice rooms all available for hire. The in-house Doorstep Cafe provides a high quality conference and meeting room menu for the Centre’s Conference clientele. Opening times; 9am to 7pm Monday to Friday. Weekends on application.

The Centre has purpose built business units currently housing the following tenants; District Nurses, Cutting Shop, Chinese Centre, Sports Therapy and The Bridge.
The training centre offers courses in skills for work, computer classes.
The Centre is open Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 6pm and provides a wide range of nurse led services to anyone living or working in Hesters Way. The Centre offers disabled access to all treatment rooms. If you have any questions, phone 01242 548298. Practice nurse services If you are registered with St. Catherine’s or Crescent Bakery you can book an appointment with a nurse or GP. If you are registered with Corinthian or St. Georges Surgeries you can ask for an appointment to see a nurse only. Nurse led services A qualified nurse-led service in the following areas: dietary and lifestyle advice, support to stop smoking,, healthy heart advice, blood tests, well person check, contraception and sexual health advice, emergency contraception, ear check, pregnancy testing, minor illness/injury, nurse prescribing. Substance misuse clinic A GP-led multidisciplinary service providing a prompt and easily accessible service for Hesters Way residents in need of drugs treatment. The service can be accessed via GPs, GDAS or directly by the client on 01242 242579. A fully inclusive day-care nursery for children from 1 year to school age. The nursery has two large playrooms which provide a bright happy airy atmosphere, a safe enclosed garden with textured surfaces and play equipment to provide a healthy balance for outdoor fun and offers a dedicated sleep room enabling children to rest when necessary so that they can feel happy and at ease throughout the day. Puddles are registered to provide nursery education funding for 3 and 4 year olds and we accept all employers childcare voucher schemes. Call Caz or Dan on 01242 527545 for more information. |
